SENIOR MEDICAL WRITER

Summary: A Senior Medical Writer is responsible for the review and development of medical/scientific content in a variety of formats, accurate interpretation of data, clear communication with Thought Leaders, speakers and authors, efficient planning and organization, establishing effective working interactions with editorial, graphics, and produce quality products efficiently under multiple timelines.

Responsibilities: As an individual contributor, the candidate will coordinate with the Chief Medical Officer, as well as be responsible for various writing activities to ensure document consistency and quality by providing guidance on tactics reflective of adult education strategies, by assessing the short- and long-term effects of Bairex’s educational programs, and by contributing to the preparation of grant requests.

Although particular therapeutic expertise is not a requirement, background and recent experience in oncology, neurology, cardiovascular and pulmonary diseases are a plus.

The position requires current knowledge of adult learning theory and practices and emerging digital technologies for education delivery to health care professionals required. Excellent communication skills including presentations, internal team training, public speaking, writing, active listening, and synthesizing information from diverse sources when working with colleagues, members, and volunteers

Education: PhD, PharmD, MD, or advanced nursing degree

Professional Skills & Experience:

• Experience as a Medical Writer with experience in compiling, analysing, and preparing scientific reports and documentation for clinical trials
• Presented own research at conferences, with publications including scientific manuscripts for peer-reviewed journals a plus
• Perform literature surveillance in relevant scientific fields; analyze and implement in clinical design; disseminate relevant information to the medical community
• The ability to plan, drive, manage, structure, and write large, clear, concise, targeted and reader-friendly, regulatory, scientific, and medical documents in a collaboration with many stakeholders
• Superb command of both written and spoken English, strong communication skills, and an appreciation of well-written documents
• Knowledge of clinical development, GCP, statistics and scientific research methods, and applicable regulatory guidelines
• Attend scientific/client meetings and provide pre- and post-meeting materials as needed
• Bilingual in French and English (speak, read, and write) preferred
